  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I <Saml Belfield Rector> reside at Paington near Totnes and Keep a Resident Curate on this Living of Exbourn. he is duly Licenced, Salary ?45 a year with Perquesites his Name is Henry Bate. No Lecturer.

  2. Other benefices: I have another Benefice besides this Viz Paington near Totnes. {On this I have a Licenced curate}.

  3. Divine service at other churches: No.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is perform'd in this Church twice on the Lord Days with a Sermon in the Morning.

  5. Frequency of communion: The holy Sacrament is {performed} administer'd in this Church at least six Times in a year & near Forty Communicants at a Time.

  6. Catechising of children: The youth of the parish are Catechis'd every Sunday in the summer as long as any will attend.

  7. Church fabric: These things are all I think in proper Order.

  8. Glebe terrier: It Shall be done:
    Saml Belfield.

  9. Number of families: There are about sixty Families in this Parish besides a few Labourers who live in Cottage Houses.

  10. Chapels: There is no Chapel within this Parish.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: Here are no Dissenters or meeting House of any Denomination.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: There is no Charity School within our Parish it being very small.

  13. Charity: There is about Thirty or Forty shillings given away to the Poor of this Parish every Good Friday I know not of any fraud in the Managment of the same.

    Henry Bate was ordained Deacon by the Bishop of Bath & Wells Sepr 24 1769 and Priest by the same Bishop Septr 23rd 1770
