  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I do not reside at Luppit; My Residence is at Uffculm near Tiverton Devon: I have a licensed Curate who is my Son; I allow him annually thirty Pounds a year & ye Surplice Fees; He resides with me at Uffculm, which is a very large & populous Parish, & occasionly assists me there in ye weekly Duty. No Lecturer.

  2. Other benefices: I have another Benefice, ye Vicarage of Uffculm.

  3. Divine service at other churches: Divine Service is performed either by me or my Son; we serve no other Church besides Luppit & Uffculm.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is performed twice every Lord's Day with a Sermon both morning & afternoon from Lady Day to Michaelmas & at ye Request of ye Parishioners on their having two Sermons in ye Summer, only Prayers & Sermon in ye Winter once, beginning at eleven O'Clock in ye Forenoon.

  5. Frequency of communion: Four Times in ye year, Viz; at Christmas, Easter, Whitsunday & Michaelmas. About twenty Communicants.

  6. Catechising of children: The Youth are catechised some Time in ye Summer.

  7. Church fabric: The Church & Churchyard are in good Repair, & all Things else are decent for Divine Service, except ye Chancel, which is now repairing.

  8. Glebe terrier: I am informed by ye Parishioners that there is one in the Register's Office.

  9. Number of families: About one Hundred & thirty Families, or Housekeepers.

  10. Chapels: No Chapel within ye Parish.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: No Papists, nor reputed Papists, nor Meeting House.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: No publick School, Almshouse, Hospital, Endowment or Parochial Library in ye Parish.

  13. Charity: No Lands, Tenements, or Benefactions left to any char[i]table Use.

    Priest's orders and institution: I was ordained Priest ye 22d of September in the year of our Lord 1751.
    I was instituted to ye Vicarage of Luppit ye 6th Day of September in ye Year of our Lord 1754.
