  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I reside at Barnstaple ye distance from the chapel of Landkey about Four miles there being no House for the reception of the Minister: and this is the reason that all your Lordship's Predecessors have given me leave to reside at Barnstaple whether I have abused their confidence by the least neglect of any duty, will appear to your Lordship, on examin[in]g the following articles of Enquiry.

  2. Other benefices: Newton Tracey in the Deanry of Barnstaple & Alverdiscott in the Deanry of Hartland, & both in ye Archd[eacon]ry of Barnstaple.

  3. Divine service at other churches: At no church or chapel but my own. Divine Service is performed at one of ye Chapels on every Festival appointed by the Rubrick.

  4. Frequency of divine service: In ye Morning at one Chapel, & in the afternoon at ye other & at Each a Sermon.

  5. Frequency of communion: Four times at each chappel with prayers at each the Saturday before, Communicants about 40.

  6. Catechising of children: On Several Sundays in the Summer Season.

  7. Church fabric: In very Good repair.

  8. Glebe terrier: There is a Terrier, but I have not been permitted ever to see it.

  9. Number of families: About thirty.

  10. Chapels: None.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: None of any Denomination.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: No Publick endowed School.

  13. Charity: None that I know of.
