To the Revd the Minister of Kenn

  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I cheifly reside personally upon my Cure at Kenn, & in the Parsonage House. I have also a Curate the Revd Mr. Tripe, resident, who is duly licenced, Salary forty five Pounds per Annum: There is no Lecturer.

  2. Other benefices: I have another Benefice called Little Hempston in the Archdeaconry of Totnes.

  3. Divine service at other churches: At none besides my own.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is perform'd twice on the Lords Day with a Sermon both Morning & Evening it is also perform'd on Xmas Day & Good Friday.

  5. Frequency of communion: The Sacrament of the Lords Supper is administer'd seven times in the year. Number of Communicants from thirty to forty.

  6. Catechising of children: The youth of the Parish have been catechized occasionally not at any stated Times.

  7. Church fabric: In good Repair & all Things decent for divine Service.

  8. Glebe terrier: The Terrier is mislaid, having been given into an Attorneys Hands on Account of a Law suit some time ago in my Predecessors Time; it shall be enquired after & recoverd as soon as may be.

  9. Number of families: One hundred & Eight.

  10. Chapels: No Chapel.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: No reputed Papists, no Meeting House for Dissenters.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: No School but for little Children - none of either of the other Articles.

  13. Charity: There have been Benefactions <of no great amount> & a few Tenements all duly applied except one Donation of £50 in the Hands of the Revd Charles Bertie of Honiton, the Persons authorized to receive it not being known.

    Priest's orders and institution: I was ordaind Priest by the Lord Bishop of Winchester in June 1774. Instituted to the Rectory of Kenn in June 1774. Instituted to the Rectory of Little Hempston in Sepr 1777.
