  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I reside personally upon my Cure, and in my Vicarage-House. I have an assistant Resident, who serves my Daughter-Churches of Shute & Monkton, with a Salary of £45 a year & Surplice Fees. He is not licensed, it being incompatible with the tenure of his Fellowship of Baliol College. His name is John Barnes.

  2. Other benefices: I have the Rectory of West Worlington, in the Deanery of South-Molton.

  3. Divine service at other churches: I don't perform Divine Service at any Church besides my own.

  4. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is performed in my church, twice on ye Lord's Day, with a Sermon each time.

  5. Frequency of communion: Four times in the year I have about fourscore Communicants.

  6. Catechising of children: During the Summer Season.

  7. Church fabric: My church & chancel are in good repair, and my Church yard well kept, & I have all things <decent>for divine Service.

  8. Glebe terrier: I have no Glebe Lands.

  9. Number of families: Between three and four hundred.

  10. Chapels: I have no Chapel within my Parish.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: I have one reputed Papist, and a meeting House for Presbyterians. Their Teachers name is Joseph Cornish.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: I have a publick School in my Parish, but no Alms-Houses, Hospital, or Parochial Library.

  13. Charity: There are Lands & Tenements vested in Feoffees for such charitable other uses as they think fit, which I believe, are duly applied. The School master has a Salary allowd him out of ye Income of them.

    Priest's orders and institution: I was ordain'd Priest the twenty third Day of September 1744, and instituted to the Vicarage of Colyton the 24th Day of Septemr: 1766
