  1. Population and dissenters: In Kingsteington there are at present about 90 Families, great & small. Of these 5 Persons are Papists & one is of the Presbyterian Sect. There is no Meeting-House in the Parish.

  2. Public or charity schools: We have no such School in the Parish.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: In Kingsteington We have some small Tenements, the Profits whereof are applied to ye Repairs of ye Church, & a few Dwellings inhabited by ye Poor. We have also a Sum of Money (which originally was £50 given by one who had ye Sheaf of the Parish & since by good Economy & otherwise encreasd to 125) the Interest of which is, according to ye Design, distributed among ye Poor industrious People of ye Parish.

In Heywick (which is an Appurtenance to Kingsteington) there is a small Lazar-House, endowd with £4 per annum paid by the Chamber of Exon. There are also some Lands & Tenements & a small yearly Pension out of the Sheaf of Cornworthy; all which are applied by the Feoffees, partly to ye Relief of ye Poor & partly to the Repairing & Adorning of the Church. The publick <Charities> in Kingsteington & Heywick are, I believe, rightly applied.

  4. Residence upon cure: I reside constantly in the Vicarage House.

  5. Curate: I serve Kingsteington myself: But at Heywick I have a Curate, whose Name is William Lux M.A. Fellow of Baliol Coll. Oxon. He resides in the Parish of Heywick. I allow him £30 per annum (which is paid quarterly) & the Surplice-Fees.

  6. Divine service at other churches: No, unless it be to help a Neighbour-Clergyman in Sickness &c. I usually officiate at Heywick every last Sunday in the Month, at which Time Mr. Lux officiates at Kingsteington.

  7. Frequency of divine service: Divine service is perform'd here twice every Lord's Day with a Sermon both Parts of ye Day. The Church Service is also performed on all Saint's Days, on Ash-Wednesday, on every Wednesday & Friday in Lent, on ye 29th of May with a Sermon on Good Friday, Jan. 30 & Nov. 5.

  8. Frequency of communion: It is administred in the Church of Kingsteington every first Sunday in the Month & on the three great Festivals.

  9. Number of communicants: The Number of Communicants in Kingsteington are about 200. Of these some communicate every Month, others not so often. Our Number at each monthly Communion is sometimes 80, seldom less than 60, often more. Last Easter we had more than 80, as near as I can remember.

  10. Catechising of children: I catechize the Children in the Church of Kingsteington every Sunday, when I am there, after the Second Lesson in the Afternoon. I have a pretty many that attend that Exercise.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: Besides the Church of Heywick, I have a Chapel <in that Parish> called Lady Mary's Chapel situated in Newton Bushell, which is kept in pretty good Repair, clean & decent, tho' not so well adorned as the Church of Heywick. In this Chapel the Children of that Part of the Parish are sometimes christen'd. Prayers read on all Saints Day & divine Service perform'd every Lords Day in the Afternoon from Allhallows to Candlemas.
