  1. Population and dissenters: In the Parish of Broadhempston there are about one Hundred and Twenty Eight Families. Of these two intire Families are reputed Roman-Catholics: And the Master of anothr. Family, is, of that Denomination of Dissenters which are called Arians. There is no licenced or other Meeting House in this Parish.

  2. Public or charity schools: There is no Publick School whatever in this Parish.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: In this Parish, there is a House called the Church-House, value £4 a Year given in Trust to Feoffees for the Repairs of the Church.
    Also the Tythe of an Estate called Pit in this Parish given by the Revd Mr Jesse Vicar of ye Parish, for ye Use of ye Poor forever, value year by year about 20s. And ye Tythe of a Field called Gandrel given by one Richard Eles to ye Poor forever Value 5s year by year. – And also 20s a year given by Will to the Poor by John Peters Esq forever to be paid out of the Tythe of the Parish of Cornworthy. Likewise 2s a year to be paid out of a Plott of Ground called Locksacre; and 1s to be paid yearly to the Poor out of a Tenement called Will in this Parish. A Bag of Wheat given to ye Poor every Xtmas by ye Will of Wm Blackler, during ye life of John Blackler his Brothr. All which Benefactions are duly & regularly paid. Here are also three little Houses with Six Shillings & Eight Pence to be paid yearly to each of ye Poor Inhabitants thereof, & ye Houses repaired, which has been done accordingly for a 100 years past, till about 10 years since, since which time neither the House have been repaired nor the 6s and 8d paid.

  4. Residence upon cure: I do not reside personally upon this Cure, but upon the Cure of Maker, which I hold by a Dispensation.

  5. Curate: Your Lordship having had the Substance of this Query already – undr. Consideration, I beg leave to refer your Lordship to the Account that was then given of it.

  6. Divine service at other churches: No.

  7. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service performed in our Church twice every Lords Day, with a Sermon in the Morning & Afternoon; and generally Prayers are read on every Holy-day.

  8. Frequency of communion: Four times in the Year; viz at Christmas, Easter, Whitsunday, and Michaelmas.

  9. Number of communicants: In this Parish there are about Seventy or Eighty Communicants about fifty of which usually receive. Near Sixty communicated at Easter last past.

  10. Catechising of children: The Children are catechiz'd on Sundays in the afternoon immediately after the Second Lesson, from Whitsontide to Lammas, and Sometimes longer. The Parishioners to Send their Servants & Children to be instructed.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: There is no Chapel in this Parish.
