  1. Population and dissenters: About Seventy of these, two are Dissenters. One of the Presbyterian, the other of the Anabaptist denomination. There is no licenced nor other meeting House of Dissenters in our Parish.

  2. Public or charity schools: There is no publick or Charity School endow’d. But there is Thirty three pounds given to the Parish of Tallaton by Charles Harward late Rector thereof, for the maintenance of poor Children to School for ever, to be order’d and apply’d by the Rector of Tallaton for the time being: which is apply’d accordingly, in the education of six poor Children who constantly frequent their Church and are instructed in its Catechism. I have heard also within these few days of a Legacy of twenty Pounds given by Mrs Elizabeth Prideaux for the education of poor Children at School which money was said to be placed out, in the hands of one Nicholas Harris of Tallaton who at present is supposed to be insolvent.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: There is no Alms-house, Hospital or other charitable Endowment in our Parish. There are Lands to the yearly value of one pound five shillings given to ten of the substantial Inhabitants of Tallaton for the time being, in trust for the poor of the said Parish. And also a House now let for four pound a year given to Feoffees for the use of the Poor of the said Parish. I neither know nor have heard of any abuses or frauds <committed> in the management of them.

  4. Residence upon cure: I do reside personally upon my Cure and in my Parsonage House.

  5. Curate: [No answer given]

  6. Divine service at other churches: I do not perform Divine Service at any Church besides my own.

  7. Frequency of divine service: On Sundays and some Holydays. Twice every Lords day with a sermon in the morning and afternoon.

  8. Frequency of communion: Four times.

  9. Number of communicants: About Sixty. Near forty usually receive, and there were near that number last Easter as well as I can recollect.

  10. Catechising of children: The Children are catechized in the Summer time. The Parishioners send them to be instructed by me.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: We have no Chapel in our Parish, nor any in Ruins.
